Once again, I find myself thinking: 'I had no idea so many people were so stupid'. It's not that the people who are against the coalition really are dumb, it's just that their arguments against it make no sense at all. The numbers they quote or the cry "I don't want to waste money on another election" are completely absurd.
Here some examples of the brilliant conservative supporters from CBC:

This whole COALITION thing is a rude wake up call that we Canadians dont have such a perfect Democracy as weve been lead to believe. We democractly ellected a minority government two months ago. Now they would scrap the government and form an UN-Elected government ,OUTSIDE of a democratic vote. Is this a power Grab? Quite obviously. Plainly they are not interested in whats best for this Nation ,just THEMSELVES. Deon couldent lead a band in a pre school class. His video message that he sent to the media last night was like something he did with his cell phone! Talk about unprofessional! Layten in the election in October , in his last speach, after the vote, said how glad he was that the NDP was able to keep "more important issues" in the election other that things like the ecomony. This is light of a looming world ression! Is THIS the type of pathetic "leadership" we want to lead our Nation through one of its most toughest economic times???
God Helps if this MUPPET COALITION goes through!
Democracy is being CRUSIFIED ,while Canadians stand by and watch.....and some even cheer.
God help us come to our sences before its too late!

I hope everyone who thinks this coalition is a good idea takes a look at the Dow and the TSX which have been moving in opposite directions since tis foolishness began. If we allow this country to be controlled by communists and sepratists (news flash to Stephane....you may be the figurehead ....but you won't be calling the shots) the international investment community will crucify Canada. A year from now we will be fondly recalling the good old days when the TSX was over 7,000 and our dollar was worth more than 50 cents.

I especially like the part about the risk of the country being 'controlled by communists'... yes Canada does have Communists - they are called the COMMUNIST party. I can see how you might confuse that with New Democrat Party (sarcasm), but in the future, just remember communist does not have a 'p' or a 'd' in it. This doesn't require an election. Everyone in Parliament was elected. It is simply three parties getting together to form a government that works (and represents the MAJORITY of Canadian voters). I seem to recall a time in the not so distant (but seemingly forgotten) past, when two parties on the right with little chance of ever forming a majority government joined forces to create our very own Conservative Party as it is today.... hummm - boo hoooo. In addition, wasn't Harper the only party leader who consistently stated that there was no economic crisis??? And for goodness sake - I am the first person to admit that I can't spell, but use a spell check!
And what's the deal with shutting down Parliament until the end of January??? Like that is going to make the issue go away. We don't have time to screw around for the environment, the economy, or anything. I believe a coalition can work.
Yup - it's a democracy, or at least that's what they called it in school. More people did NOT vote conservative.... therefore the Conservatives should be in power???
Well at least this has people, lots of people - not the regular people - caring about Canadian politics. Hopefully, everyone will keep watching.
